Ashkan Rahdar
I am a Master’s student specializing in Nanophotonics at the University of Tehran, where my research focuses on the intersection of hardware security, optics, and artificial intelligence. My passion for understanding complex physical systems stems from winning a Gold Medal at the Iran National Physics Olympiad, which laid the foundation for my academic journey. Currently, my research is dedicated to developing Reconfigurable Time-Varying Photonic Authentication Systems with Machine Learning Attack Resistance. By merging the unique physics of nanophotonics with robust hardware-level security, I aim to design next-generation authentication systems that are inherently resilient against sophisticated adversarial AI threats.Prior to joining the University of Tehran, I graduated from Sharif University of Technology in the year 2024, where I built an interdisciplinary research foundation across signal processing, sensor fusion, and Edge MLOps. My previous work includes designing end-to-end AIoT platforms for on-device machine learning, optimizing deep learning networks like CRF-Net for autonomous vehicle perception, and co-authoring a publication in the IEEE Sensors Journal for a wearable biomedical data-fusion system. Within the lab, I am leveraging this unique blend of advanced machine learning expertise and physical modeling to push the boundaries of what is possible in secure, intelligent photonic hardware.
